Machine Screws
Always match your screws to the job, considering
both the finished result and the materials being used. Use round heads
for work likely to be disassembled, and for fastening thin materials.
Use flat heads when the screw head must be flush with the surface, or
oval heads when countersinking is possible. If in doubt, use scrap stock
to experiment with different types and sizes.
These screws are available in a wide variety of materials, including:
zinc-plated steel, brass, nylon (natural and black), 316 stainless steel,
18-8 stainless steel, teflon, titanium, and aluminum. All machine screws
feature standard ‘machine’ points, and are available in sizes
from #2-56 to 1/2" and lengths from 1/8" to 6".
Thumb Screws
Made from cold forged zinc-plated steel, these screws tighten and loosen with low-torque finger pressure.
Ideal where frequent disassembly is required. Available plain and shouldered, in sizes from 1/4" and 5/16"
and lengths from 1/2" to 4". Sizes are measured using screw diameter.
A range of other thumb tightening type fasteners are also available, including: Precision Knurled Head Screws,
Knurled Knob Thumb Screws, Wing Screws and Knurled Head Dog Point Screws. Please call for additional information.
